10 things for me...
REPOST FROM - Friday, October 20 2006I've re evaluated my list and I'm gonna do a little updating to it. Some things have dropped off the list, and other things are new, so I hope you enjoy.
I read some article by a chick, and it had her 10 Essential Things list. I got to wondering... what are the 10 things that I need/want/use on a daily basis? I know this list could be longer, or more well thought out... so I might go back and edit it... but this is the top 10 off the top of my head right now.
10. iPod - I gotta have this for the train in the morning. I cannot stand to listen to the nonsensical ramblings of the people on the train. I have not only become a pro at sleeping for 15-20 minutes, sleeping sitting up in a chair, but now I can sleep while listening to music blasting into my ears.
-- UPDATE: still rockin' my iPod
9. Passport – My new thing the past few years has been to travel. I think that at my last count I’ve been to 11 countries on 3 different continents. I love to travel and see new places n’ experience different things. I think that next time I might go with either a group of 4 or 5… or just go solo by myself. Hostels are the way to travel too… just in case you wanted to know. I gotta tell you about the beer too… WOW… beer around the world is sooooo good. Nothing like drinking some monk Trappist beer over in Belgium. Go grab a backpack n’ start traveling!!
8. MMA – Mixed Martial Arts... most people have seen it displayed on tv at the UFC. This has quickly became my favorite sport. Boxing, baseball, football, n' basketball are just tooo boring now. I'd rather watch a repeat of the UFC to watching the World Series or the Superbowl. Plus I really like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and this is a big part of MMA. I've been following the sport for years now, and in the past year or so it's started to blow up n' get mainstream.
7. Waitresses – Man do I love waitresses. This is even better than the remote control. All the remote does for me is change the channel or make the little talking box louder. Waitresses on the other hand bring me food, and more importantly drinks. All I have to do is ask for another one… and voila… another drink appears. Sometimes all I have to do is just motion for another drink, and she’s on it. Yes I did say “she” because I said I liked waitresses not waiter dudes. Thank you Ms. Hot Waitress for making my like just a little bit easier. If you would fold my laundry I would marry you.
6. Laptop Computer - Technology is great. I am in front of tons of computers all day, and when I get home from work what is one of the first things that I do? Sit down and turn my laptop on. Damn I'm addicted to that thing. Not only do I get on the internet with it, but I also love to do PhotoShops on it. There is a certain satisfaction I have with messing around with pictures on my computer. Gotta love the chops. Oh yeah… and pr0n.
-- UPDATE: I'm not on my laptop as much, but I still get on it daily
5. Cellphone - I feel naked when I don't have my cellphone with me. I'm always reaching down to my left front pocket to check my cellphone... phone calls, txt msg's, and emails. I gotta be connected at all times.
-- UPDATE: I still have my cellphone attached to my hip
4. Jeans & T-Shirt - Man what would I do without this combo. I have no problem dressing up for a wedding or some formal occasion and putting on a suit and tie. I'll dress up and head out to the club or party, and I have no problem. What I really do like is to not have to worry about what I'm wearing, and just throw on some comfortable jeans and a t-shirt. I almost look forward to Friday's because I can wear jeans and a t-shirt to work on Friday... it makes the day go by quicker and is more enjoyable. Jeans and a t-shirt is sooo much a staple of many peoples wardrobe that it is the default public attire that is accepted almost everywhere.
-- UPDATE: yep... still love my t-shirt n' jeans
3. Good Imported Beer - The top three were all pretty close, and unfortunately this one came up just a little bit short. Everyone that knows me knows that I love beer... and I really love good beer. There is nothing like relaxing at the river with a Corona, or helping a friend move with a Heineken, or sitting down at an Irish Pub with a Guinness. Beer is a love in my life that has very rarely done me wrong. When I love beer too much... it has been known to treat me wrong, but it's my fault... not the beers.
-- UPDATE: beer from Belgium is the best in the world
2. Credit Card - I'm pretty bad with money and I couldn't tell you how much money I had in my checking, savings, or retirement. What I do know is that I hand over a little piece of plastic, and people give me stuff for free. It could be a $3.50 cafe moca over at Starbucks or $4,000 for a bar tab over in Vegas. I know that I owe more than I'm worth, but who cares... I'm having fun!!
-- UPDATE: yeah I'm still in debt n' still having fun
1. High Speed Internet - Thank you Al Gore!! What would I do without my good friend Mr. Internet. Yes I did say Mr. because the internet was invented by men... for men. I literally could stay in my house for the rest of my life and the internet can bring me all the things that I need. Information, groceries, movies, books, beer, technology... anything that I want can be looked at, and even delivered to my apt. Granted it has probably made me a much lazier person, but I'll say that is a great trade off for having the world at my finger tips.
-- UPDATE: yes the internet has made me fatter and lazier
I'm from Chino and PROUD OF IT!
